Seeking dishwashers, line cooks & breakfast cooks

The Historic James Bay Inn Hotel is urgently seeking 2 experienced breakfast cook/brunch cooks and a line cook for the evening shift. Our breakfast and brunch menus include traditional breakfasts such as bacon & eggs, waffles, pancakes, benedicts, omelets and skillets. Lunch and dinner menu includes pub grub & traditional comfort food. Preference given to those applicants with 4 or more years experience.

Evening Line & Breakfast Cook Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Prepare food items by cutting, chopping and mixing

  • Follow recipes

  • Operate equipment properly and safely

  • Follow Recipes and the James Bay Inn Standards

  • Handle, store and rotate products properly

  • Receive and put away orders

  • Reliable and trustworthy to open the kitchen in the mornings.

  • Work well in a team and independently

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

  • Follow all JBI, city, provincial and federal safety protocols

  • Maintain the quality of each dish while ensuring a speedy output

  • Other duties as assigned by the Chef

PLEASE NOTE: Solid experience cooking different types of eggs is a must for breakfast cooks (poached, scrambled, over easy, sunny side up ect ect)

Compensation: From $20.00 per hour depending on experience.

The James Bay Inn, in beautiful James Bay is eagerly seeking a reliable go getter who is energetic to join our kitchen team as a dishwasher/prep cook. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with others and thrives in working in a high paced, busy environment. You must be dependable, organized, and take pride in a job well done. Compensation:$16.50 + depending on experience, plus tips. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the kitchen is clean, always maintained, and organized

  • Operate dishwasher and maintain a hygienic working environment .

  • Assist the Cooks and Servers as and when necessary.

  • Carry out general cleaning as directed to include sweeping, mopping up, washing up, emptying of rubbish bins and boxes ensuring placement in the correct containers

  • Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, utensils, and other minor equipment routinely used in the kitchen following established procedures.

  • Cleans and maintains floors and walls in kitchen and dish washing area by following the JBI procedures and standards.

  • Assist with daily prep, set up and tear down
